Confessions for sale

It’s feeling like a recurring theme.
Too busy, too tired, too lazy and a million other things on my heart and mind.
I want rad food but I just can’t muster magnificence these days.
So… I’ve taken to finding a new something each time I go to the grocery store/farmers market.
It’s a perfect confidence builder when you’re feeling not-so-confident in the kitchen.

The Mr. picked up these doozies on a recent trip. Delicious!
Yeah, I know they’re designed for dessert- but since when have I followed that rule?!

I threw ’em on some chicken –> in the slow cooker.
Dinner done.
And it’s 10am.
RAD.
Another confession…
Pinterest recipes are pissing me off lately. I’m feeling inferior to their potential greatness and that does not an encourager make.

This is the butternut squash ravioli I found at Costco. I followed the brown sugar sauce recipe it recommended on the package, instead of the traditional option of red sauce.
Sweet and tasty. Probably best for a lunch date with your girls.

Confession #3.
I’ve never found a store bought chili I’ve wanted to talk about.
Until now.
Chili. I know. It’s all a matter of taste.
I’ve never made homemade chili. I’m just not patient enough. (Remember, I’m way too lazy to ‘hover’ over anything!)
But I would definitely lie and say I made this if I HAD to make chili!

Seriously?! Safeway?!
Rad find if I do say so myself.

Apple Cider. It’s the sweet-tooth answer to chicken stock.

Throw it in the crockpot with your pork roast…chicken…

On the fifth day of Christmas… I would sooo welcome this as a gift ANYDAY.
Chutney, My Chutney! This might be one of my favorites in the condiment family. (And I LOVE me a good condiment!)
I could eat this right out of the jar! I paired this with chicken the first time and on burgers the next go round.

The point is there is so much out there to make your meals unique and delectable. Don’t over complicate it.
You don’t have to be a Master Chef to plate a mouthgazm!

  1. What?! You’ve never made chili? Okay you can throw chili in the crockpot just like anything else you simmer slowly. I had a fantastic veg. chili with sweet potatoes – it sounds weird but it was great. It wasn’t Cincinnati chili weird – and I would never tell you to eat it over spaghetti. šŸ˜‰

My favorite confession: “Pinterest recipes are pissing me off lately. Iā€™m feeling inferior to their potential greatness and that does not an encourager make.” HA! Pinterest is supposed to make you feel inferior – I think it’s the goal.

    1. I don’t know I could trust a crockpot, well mine anyway, with chili. I’d be concerned about a burnt taste after awhile. I’m notorious for having dinner ready at 4pm on crockpot days. (I’m much older than I look! ;)-
Post the recipe here so we can all check it out. You know how I’m a slut for sweet potatoes!

      1. bahahaha – you are a sweet potato slut! That’s awesome! I guess we are all a slut for something.

How do you burn things in the crockpot? Mine goes on warm after it’s done heating, does yours not have that feature? I have a love hate thing with crockpots though – my first one lasted about 17 years (got it when we got married) and then I’ve had three that have fell to pieces in the last couple of years – truly, they don’t make things like they used to. And there’s my grandma quote for the day!

        1. I have two. One is a piece of crap, the other I’ve had for 20+ years (I can’t even lie about it- the peach color would give it away!). It’s on it’s last leg. No automatic warm button. I’ve had my eye on a few, but I think if need to apply for a loan for the one I really want. šŸ˜‰
